Wuchuan City, county-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, administered by Zhanjiang City, is located in southwestern Guangdong Province, is located in western Guangdong Province, the largest river in the lower reaches of the Jianjiang River, the main stream of the Jianjiang River from north to south from the city of Huazhou Shining entry, flow through the Meicraxon turn Wuyang Shajiao swirled out of the South China Sea. The total area of the region is 858.1 square kilometers. As of the end of 2021, Wuchuan City had a resident population of 910,600 people. As of October 2022, Wuchuan City has a total of 5 streets and 10 towns under its jurisdiction, with the municipal people's government stationed in Meilac Street.
During the Yuanjia period of Song Dynasty (424~453), Pingding County (the predecessor of Wuchuan County) was set up under Gaoliang County, and in the ninth year of Kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (589), Pingding County was abolished to set up Wuchuan County, and in May, 1994, Wuchuan was abolished as a county and set up as a city. The Guangzhou-Zhan Expressway, National Highway 325 and Mao-Zhan Railway run through the whole city, and there is a national second-class port, Wu Chuan Port, and Zhanjiang Wu Chuan Airport is located in Wu Chuan.
In 2021, Wu Chuan City realized a regional GDP (preliminary accounting) of 30.441 billion yuan, an increase of 7.2% over the previous year.
