Zijin County, a county under the jurisdiction of Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the east-central part of Guangdong Province, southeast of Heyuan City, on the east bank of the middle reaches of the Dongjiang River, and in the upper reaches of the Han River. Total area of 3635.13 square kilometers, located in the subtropical monsoon climate zone. 2020, set up 16 towns, 270 villages (neighborhood) committees. The county government is located in Zicheng Town. According to the data of the seventh population census in 2020, the resident population of Zijin County is 469,100 people. It is a pilot county in Guangdong Province directly supervising the county's financial reform, the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization of piece of the county.
The court approved the establishment of Yongan County in the third year of Ming Longqing (1569). In the 3rd year of the Republic of China (1914), Yongan County of Guangdong Province was renamed Zijin County, and in May 1949, it was subordinate to Dongjiang Prefecture; in 1952, it was subordinate to East Guangdong Administrative Region; in 1956, it was subordinate to Huiyang Prefecture; in 1959, it was subordinate to Shantou Prefecture; in 1963, it was again subordinate to Huiyang Prefecture; in 1988, it became a county under the jurisdiction of Heyuan Municipality.
In 2023, the GDP of Zijin County was 15.576 billion yuan, up 5.0% year-on-year. Among them, the added value of primary industry was 4154.5 million yuan, up 6.8% year-on-year; the added value of secondary industry was 402,898,000 yuan, up 5.2% year-on-year; the added value of tertiary industry was 739,226,000 yuan, up 4.0% year-on-year.
