Heping County, belonging to Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northeast of Guangdong Province, the upper reaches of the Dongjiang River, and the JiuLian Mountain area on the border of Guangdong and Gan. It covers an area of 2,292.08 square kilometers and has 17 towns under its jurisdiction. Yangming Town is the seat of Heping County. The topography of the county is roughly high in the northwest and low in the southeast, and the Li River in the county joins the Dongjiang River at Dongshui Town. The total population of Heping County is about 560,000, and in 2020, there were 353,900 permanent residents in Heping County. In the 13th year of Zhengde of Ming Dynasty (1518), Wang Yangming, the imperial historian and governor of Southern Gan, played the court to set up Heping County. Heping County is the first county of Beijing-Hong Kong Express Railway, Yue-Gan Expressway, Beijing-Kowloon Railway southward into Guangdong, the county of the Central Soviet Union, the hometown of Chinese hot springs, the national key ecological functional area, the national leisure agriculture and rural tourism demonstration county, Guangdong Province, the strongest county of tourism, Guangdong Province, county civilized city, and Guangdong Province, the demonstration county of low-carbon development. In 2023, the gross regional product of Heping County was 13.522 billion yuan, up 5.0% year-on-year. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 2862.8 million yuan, up 5.4% year-on-year; the added value of the secondary industry was 3623.69 million yuan, up 7.5% year-on-year; and the added value of the tertiary industry was 703,546,000 yuan, up 3.6% year-on-year.
