Dongyuan County, belongs to Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. Located in northeastern Guangdong Province and the middle and upper reaches of the Dongjiang River, it is bordered by Longchuan and Wuhua counties to the east, Yuancheng and Zijin counties to the south, Longmen and Xinfeng counties to the west, and Heping and Lianping counties to the north, with a total area of 4,070 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Dongyuan County has 20 towns and 1 township under its jurisdiction.In 2021, Dongyuan County had a household population of 586,800 people.

It is the first county-level civilized city in Guangdong Province, and the provincial-level model area for regional tourism.

Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 3,411.95 million yuan, an increase of 9.9% year-on-year; the added value of the secondary industry was 701.056 million yuan, an increase of 5.8% year-on-year; and the added value of the tertiary industry was 7,745.34 million yuan, an increase of 3.2% year-on-year.
