Beibei District, under the Chongqing Municipality, is located in the Sichuan Basin in the eastern Sichuan parallel ridge valley area, located in the northwest of the main city of Chongqing, Chongqing is an important part of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, or one of the nine districts of the main city of Chongqing; belongs to the Southeast Asian monsoon circulation control of the subtropical humid climate. It has nine streets and eight towns under its jurisdiction, with a total area of 755 square kilometers. As of 2022, Beibei District has a resident population of 840,000 people. It will help promote the construction of the twin-city economic circle in the Chengdu-Chongqing region.
Beibei District is 27 kilometers away from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, with the Jialing River golden waterway running through the north and south, Xiangyu, Suiyu and Lanyu railroads running across the east and west, and the Roundabout Expressway, Yuwu Expressway, Yuguang Expressway, Central Expressway and Chongqing Railway Transit Line 6 running through the district; there are four AAAA scenic spots in the district, namely, Jinyun Mountain, Bei Hot Spring, Jindouxia, and Chongqing Museum of Natural Science; three higher educational institutions, such as Southwest University and the Chinese Academy of Science's Chongqing Green Intelligent Technology Research Institute; and three universities and research institutes, such as the Chongqing Green Intelligent Technology Research Institute. In 2022, Beibei District realized a gross regional product of 74.201 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.9% from the previous year, and has formed an industrial system based on the pillars of the six major industries of electronic information, automobile and motorcycle, equipment manufacturing, materials, instrumentation, and medicine. The number of industrial enterprises above scale has reached 318, with 110 enterprises with output value exceeding one hundred million yuan.
