Shushan District, belonging to Hefei City, Anhui Province, is located in the southwest of Hefei City, with a total area of 663 square kilometers. It is bounded by Jinzhai Road and Baohai District in the east, neighboring Luyang District with West Huancheng Road and Nanfang River in the north, and bordering Feixi County in the west and south. As of the end of 2023, Shushan District is under the jurisdiction of 8 streets, 2 towns and 1 national development zone, with 62 urban communities and 17 administrative villages, and the district people's government is located at No. 107, Meishan Road. Shushan District, formerly known as the third district of Hefei City, Anhui Province, the West Urban District. on January 21, 1949, Hefei was liberated, and on February 1 of the same year, Hefei was divided into the first, second, and third districts. in November 1951, the CPC Hefei City West Urban District Committee and the district government were established. in March 2002, according to the needs of the Hefei construction and development, the four districts of the city were re-adjusted and re-divided, and West Urban District was renamed Shushan District, because it is surrounded by Hefei and the West Urban District, and the district government is located in the West Urban District. Shushan District, so named because it sits on the only mountain in Hefei urban area, i.e. Dashushan. Shushan District is the core urban area and gateway urban area of Hefei's western urban cluster, and a nationally important science and innovation base. Within its jurisdiction, the Dongpu Reservoir and the Dashushan Mountain are reflected in the lakes and mountains, and there are Hefei Botanical Gardens, the Sea of Flowers in Four Seasons and other beauties, and the urban area's greening coverage rate, the rate of forested trees, and the per capita green space area ranked the first place in the city.
In 2023, Shushan District will realize a regional GDP of 140.10 billion yuan, urban per capita disposable income of 69,206 yuan, and general public budget revenue of 3.513 billion yuan.
