Tongling City has 131.3 kilometers of Yangtze River coastline, Tongling Port is one of the first open ports in China, the first ports with direct shipping to Taiwan and the terminal port of 10,000-ton ocean liners entering the river. Tongling is an important node city of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the central city of south central Anhui, the city of South Anhui International Tourism and Culture Demonstration Zone, and the city of the Wanjiang City Belt Industrial Transfer Demonstration Zone, and is one of the eight non-ferrous metal industrial bases in China, as well as an important sulfur-phosphorus chemical industry base, a national electronic materials industry base, and an important building materials production base in the Yangtze River Basin.
