Wuhe County, belonging to Bengbu City, Anhui Province, is located in the north of Anhui Province, the middle and lower reaches of the Huaihe River, east of Sihong County, Jiangsu Province, south of Mingguang City, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province, Fengyang County, west of Bengbu City and Guzhen County adjacent to the northern border of Siachen County, Lingbi County, with a total area of 1428.5686 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Wuhe County has 12 towns and 2 townships under its jurisdiction, as well as 1 development zone. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Wuhe County numbered 529,000 people. Wuhe County is named after the convergence of five waters in its territory: Huai, Hwoe, Hwoe, Tong and Tuo. With a long history, Wuhe County was known as Hong in the Tang Dynasty and was first called Wuhe in the Song Dynasty, with a history of 1,000 years. The most complete fossils of ancient diamond-toothed elephants from the Huaihe River 100,000 years ago have been unearthed in the county, and there are a number of Stone Age sites, including Bawangcheng, Huangdun Temple, Hanwangtai, and Miss Yan's Tomb, all of which still have their ancient charm. The folk song "Pomegranate Picking" won the gold medal of Nanning International Folk Song Festival, and the folk song of Wuhe represented by it was listed in the national intangible cultural heritage list; Shunhe Street is a famous historical and cultural street in Anhui Province; Yan's Tomb was upgraded to the "national key cultural relics protection unit" in 2013. In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Wuhe County will be 27.29 billion yuan, of which 7.63 billion yuan will be added to the primary industry, 5 billion yuan to the secondary industry and 14.66 billion yuan to the tertiary industry. The proportion of the three industries is 28:18.3:53.7.
