Haishu District, a district of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, is located in the central and western part of Ningbo, with a total area of 595.2 square kilometers, bordering Yinzhou District on the east across the Fenghua River, Jiangbei District on the north along the Yuyao River, Yuyao City on the west, and Fenghua District on the south. As of 2023, it has jurisdiction over 9 streets, 7 towns and 1 township, with a total of 101 communities and 165 administrative villages. The People's Government of the district is located at No. 298 Xiangfu Middle Road. As of the end of 2023, the district had a resident population of 1,065,000, and the urbanization rate of the resident population was 88.9%.
In November 1949, the two district offices of Haishu and Zhenming were set up. in March 1984, the provincial government approved the merger of Haishu and Zhenming districts, and Haishu District was established. in September 2016, nine townships and streets of the former Yinzhou District were transferred to Haishu, and the new Haishu District was established. The main attractions of Haishu District include Tianyi Pavilion, Drum Tower, Tianfeng Pagoda, Ningbo City God Temple, Tianyi Square, Yuehu Lake, etc. In September 2018, it won the "2018 China-Europe Green Intelligent Cities Award".In September 2018, the "2018 China's Top 100 Districts White Paper on the Development of China's 100 Strongest Districts" was released in Beijing, and it was elected as one of China's 100 Strongest Districts in 2018. Haishu District is one of the second batch of pilot districts in Zhejiang's high-quality development and construction of common wealth demonstration area.
In 2023, Haishu District realized a gross regional product of 164.691 billion yuan, a per capita disposable income of 78,527 yuan, and a general public budget revenue of 12.945 billion yuan.
