Xiaoshan District, subordinate to Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the north of Zhejiang Province, on the south bank of Qiantang River, neighboring Keqiao District of Shaoxing City in the east, Zhuji City in the south, Fuyang District in the west, Binjiang District in the north-west, and bordering on the Qiantang River and Xihu District, Shangcheng District and Qiantang District in the north across the river, with a total area of 931 square kilometers. Xiaoshan District is located in the southern edge of the northern subtropical monsoon climate zone, with the terrain tilted from southwest to northeast and slightly low-lying in the center. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Xiaoshan District was 2.11 million. In the first year of Tianbao of the Tang Dynasty (742), the county name was changed from Yongxing to Xiaoshan, named after the Xiaoran Mountain in its territory, and then belonged to the Shaoxing Prefecture for a long time.In 1959, it was changed to the Hangzhou Municipality.In 1988, Xiaoshan County was abolished, and Xiaoshan City (at the county level) was set up.In 2001, Xiaoshan City (at the county level) was abolished, and Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou was set up.Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou was established. As of October 2023, Xiaoshan District has 10 streets and 12 towns under the jurisdiction of Xiaoshan District, with the district people's government stationed at No. 685 Jincheng Road, Beigan Street. In 2023, Xiaoshan District realized a regional GDP of 223.069 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 5.8% at constant prices. Among them, the added value of primary industry is 5.705 billion yuan, up 1.5% year-on-year; the added value of secondary industry is 82.395 billion yuan, up 3.1% year-on-year; the added value of tertiary industry is 134.968 billion yuan, up 7.9% year-on-year.
