Geji County, belonging to Ali Region of Tibet Autonomous Region of China, is located in the western part of Tibet Autonomous Region, at the source of Shiquan River, with an area of 45,710,000 square kilometers. Geji County belongs to the plateau sub-cold arid climate zone. As of October 2021, Geji County has jurisdiction over 1 town and 4 townships. The county people's government is located in Geji Town. As of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Geji County was 18,012 people.
In the spring of 1962, the county seat was officially determined to be in Napo. Road construction in Geji County began in the 1960s, and in 1990, there were 495 km of roads in the county, and about 560 km of district and township roads were open to traffic.On December 9, 2019, after a study by the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region, it was approved that Geji County had withdrawn from the poverty-stricken counties (districts).
In 2019, Geji County's GDP reached 524.03 million yuan, an increase of 12.9%.
