Heyang County, anciently known as "Yuxin Country", belongs to Weinan City of Shaanxi Province, located in the northeast of Weinan City, facing the Yellow River in the east and Lin'yi County of Shanxi Province, separated from the Dayu River in the west and connected to Chengcheng County, adjoining Dali County in the south, and bordering Huanglong County and Hancheng City in the north, with an area of 1,437 square kilometers; the climate type belongs to the arid and semi-arid continental monsoon climate of the warm-temperate zone. Heyang County, with deep cultural deposits, is known as the "Source of Chinese Love Poetry, the Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture, and the Famous City of Yellow River Ecological Cuisine in China". As early as in the Neolithic Age, there were ancestors living here. In the second year of Emperor Jingdi of the Western Han Dynasty (155 years ago), "Heyang County" was established, belonging to Neishi County. On March 26, 1948, the Republic of China liberated Heyang, and designated it as a county belonging to the Huanglong Sub-district of the Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Government, and in September 1964, it changed the name of the name from "He" to "He" and was called Heyang County, belonging to the Weinan Sub-district, and in 1995, the county belonged to the Weinan City. On July 29, 2020, Heyang County was re-recognized as a National Sanitary County by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.In October 2023, Heyang County was named one of the third batch of National Agricultural Products Quality Safety Counties.
