Pingli County, belonging to Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, is adjacent to Zhuxi County, Hubei Province in the east, Zhenping County in the southeast, Chengkou County, Chongqing Municipality in the south, Langao County, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province in the west and Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, Hambin District and Xunyang City in the north. It lies between latitude 31°37′-32°39′N and longitude 109°-109°33′E, with a total area of 2,647 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Pingli County has 11 towns under its jurisdiction. Pingli is the hometown of Nuwa, and the Guanya Ancient Great Wall within its territory is the site of the Chu Great Wall built during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Periods, which has a history of more than 2,700 years, making it the oldest Great Wall in China. Pingli was listed as one of the eight major tea regions in China in the Tang Dynasty, and in the Qianlong Dynasty, Pingli Sanliya Mao Jian became a tribute tea, and "Pingli Nuwa Tea" has obtained the National Geographical Indication Trademark.
