Decheng District, a district of Dezhou, Shandong Province, is located in the northwestern part of Shandong Province, and is the center of Dezhou City, depending on Beijing and Tianjin in the north and Jinan in the south, and is located in the Binhai New Area of Tianjin and the Bohai Rim Economic Circle.
As of 2022, Dezhou City Dezhou District has jurisdiction over 2 towns (Huangheya Town and Ertun Town), 5 street offices (Tianqu, Xinhua, Xinhu, Guangchuan, and Canal), 50 urban communities, 53 rural communities, 48 urban communities, and 54 rural communities, with an area of 231 square kilometers. According to the seventh census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Decheng District was 695,310 people.
Deucheng District has the second largest thermal power plant in China: Huaneng Dezhou Power Plant, with an annual surplus of 6 billion kWh; three large plains reservoirs with a storage capacity of 200 million cubic meters, six thermal power plants supplying 3,000 tons of heat per day as well as a natural gas pipeline network supplying 300,000 cubic meters of gas per day.
In 2020, the annual gross domestic product (GDP) of Decheng District will be RMB 29.012 billion. In terms of comparable prices, it is 3.5% higher than the previous year.
In October 2018, it was selected as one of the 2018 National Top 100 Districts in Science and Technology Innovation. Selected as one of the Top 100 National Science and Technology Innovation Districts in 2019.
