Wan'an County, belonging to Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the south-central part of Jiangxi Province and the southern edge of Ji'an City, bordering Xingguo County of Ganzhou City in the east, Ganxian District and Nankang District of Ganzhou City in the south, Suichuan County in the west and Taihe County in the north. Wan'an County has a total area of 2,051 square kilometers, with 9 towns, 7 townships and 1 reclamation farm under its jurisdiction.At the end of 2022, the total population of Wan'an County was 315,600 people, of which 129,700 were urban residents.
The town of Wan'an was established in the first year of Baodai of the Southern Tang Dynasty (943), and the town was changed to a county in the fourth year of Xining of the Song Dynasty (1071), with the county seat at Furong Town. From the Song Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty, Wan'an County had 132 jinshi and more than 470 jurenshi. Wan'an County is one hour drive from Jinggangshan Airport and Ganzhou Golden Airport, and is crossed by Daguang Expressway, Changgan High-speed Railway, National Highway 105 and National Highway 356. Wan'an County has been honored as the Hometown of Chinese Peasant Painting, the Hometown of Singing Boat Culture in China, the National Model City for Industry and Livability, the National Demonstration County for Rural Happiness Community Construction, the Provincial Demonstration County for Beautiful and Livable Living, and the First Batch of Demonstration Counties of the Province for Food Safety Governance, and so on.
In 2022, Wan'an County realized a gross regional product of 12.114 billion yuan, with a comparable growth of 5.5%. By industry, the added value of primary industry is 1.541 billion yuan, up 4.8%; the added value of secondary industry is 4.423 billion yuan, up 6.9%; the added value of tertiary industry is 6.15 billion yuan, up 4.6%.
