Anfu County, belonging to Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the west-central part of Jiangxi Province and the northwest of Ji'an City. It is located between longitude 114°-114°47′ east and latitude 27°4′-27°36′ north. The county is 76 kilometers long from east to west and 59 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 2793.15 square kilometers. Anfu County has a humid climate in the central subtropical monsoon, characterized by mild climate, abundant rainfall, abundant sunshine, obvious dryness and wetness, four distinct seasons, longer winter and summer, shorter spring and autumn, and longer frost-free period. As of 2020, Anfu County has 8 townships and 11 townships under its jurisdiction, with the county government located in Pindu Township. As of the end of 2022, the household population of Anfu County was 418,300.
Before the Qin Dynasty, Anfu was successively under the states of Wu and Chu. In the 10th year of Kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (590), Ancheng County was abolished, and Ancheng County was subordinated to Jizhou. In the 18th year of Kaihuang (598), Ancheng County was changed to Anfu County. Tang Wude seven years (624) abolished the state, changed Anfu County for Anfu County, the name of Anfu since then. The total mileage of roads in Anfu County is 2,469.96 kilometers, including 6.62 kilometers of Daxing-Guangzhou Expressway, 166.70 kilometers of provincial highways, 278.7 kilometers of county highways, 665.29 kilometers of township highways, and 1,352.65 kilometers of cemented roads in administrative villages and natural villages.
