Shangyou County, belonging to Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southwest of Jiangxi Province, east of Nankang District, south of Chongyi County, west of Hunan Province, Guidong County, north of the border of Ji'an City, Suichuan County, the county covers an area of 1,543 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 6 towns and 8 townships, 131 administrative villages and 16 communities.At the end of 2022, Shangyou County, the total household population of 321,100 people. Shangyu County was founded in the 10th year of the Southern Tang Dynasty (952 AD), and was named after its seat in the south of the Dajiushan Mountain and the upper side of the Yushuikou.
