Xiajiang County, belonging to Jiangxi Province, Ji'an City, due to Baqiu Town, Jade Gorge on both sides of the peaks clamped Gan water, the river is narrow and named, located in the north of Ji'an City, located in the hinterland of Ganzhong, between the latitude of 27 ° 27 ′ 50 ″ to 27 ° 45 ′ 20 ″, longitude of 114 ° 53 ′ 21 ″ to 115 ° 31 ′ 57 ″ between the county's total area of 1,287.43 square kilometers. The climate of Xiajiang County is characterized by a humid mid-subtropical monsoon climate. As of 2018, Xiajiang County has 6 towns, 5 townships, and 1 other township-level unit under its jurisdiction, with the county government residing in ShuiBian Town. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Xiajiang County was 149,993.
In the fourth month of the fifth year of Ming Jiajing (1526), a total of 24 units were set up in Xiajiang County by analyzing the 3 townships of Yangming, Broken Gold, and Yuzu in Xinjian, and a part of each of Shanzheng, Taiping, and Shang'anguo townships, which belonged to Linjiang Prefecture. After the founding of New China, it belonged to Ji'an area, and on May 11, 2000, approved by the State Council, Ji'an area was abolished and prefecture-level Ji'an city was established, and Xiajiang County belonged to Ji'an city. Xiajiang County has four major land and water transportation arteries, namely, Gan-Guangdong Highway, 105 National Highway, Beijing-Kowloon Railway, and Ganjiang River Waterway, running across the north and south of the county.In March 2019, Xiajiang County was selected to be on the list of the first batch of counties of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization of piece of the county.On July 29, 2020, it was selected to be on the list of the 2019 reconfirmation of the national sanitary townships (county towns).
In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Xiajiang County was 1,022,951,000 yuan, with a growth of 4.8% at comparable prices.
