Qingyuan District, belonging to Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the central part of Jiangxi Province, between longitude 114°56′-115°30′ east and latitude 26°38′-27°10′ north. The map is in the shape of a long strip, bordering on the periphery with Jizhou District, Jishui County, Yongfeng County, Xingguo County and Taihe County of Ji'an City, covering an area of 915 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over six established towns, one She Township, two streets and one reclamation farm.At the end of 2022, the total household population of Qingyuan District was 231,300 people.
Qingyuan District was formed as a county-level administrative district approved by the State Council in September 2000 when Ji'an was abolished as a city, and consists of 10 townships and farms belonging to the former county-level Ji'an City, Jishui County, and Ji'an County. As of the end of 2018, Qingyuan District has jurisdiction over 2 city streets, 6 organized towns, 1 She Township and 1 reclamation farm, and is the central urban area of Ji'an City and the core area of the Jitai Corridor; the terrain within the Qingyuan District descends roughly from the southeast to the Gan River in a step-by-step fashion, with mountainous terrain, hills, and valley plains (the Jitai Plain) in that order from the southeastern border. The region is in the middle subtropical, by the alternating influence of cold and warm air currents, the formation of subtropical monsoon humid climate, with four distinct seasons.
In 2022, Qingyuan District realized a GDP of 16.032 billion yuan and a total revenue of 1.472 billion yuan.
