Linwu County, belonging to Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, is located in the southernmost part of Hunan Province, at the northern foot of the eastern section of the Nanling Mountain Range, neighboring Yizhang County in the east and southeast, bordering Lianzhou City, Guangdong Province in the south, Lanshan County in the southwest, Jiahe County in the northwest, Guiyang County in the north, and Beihu District in the northeast. Linwu is one of the counties with the longest history of county establishment in southern Hunan, with Linwu Eup set up during the Warring States period and the county established in the fifth year of Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (202 B.C.). The county covers an area of 1,383.06 square kilometers. According to the seventh census data, as of zero hour on November 1, 2020, Linwu County resident population of 322,987 people. With a total area of 1,383 square kilometers, Linwu County has 13 townships under its jurisdiction as of the end of 2019.
Linwu is rich in mineral resources, with 32 kinds of minerals in 9 categories, of which tin reserves rank fourth in the country and first in the province, and is known as "the township of small colored" and "the township of coal". The main attractions are Linwu Thirty-six Bay, Xiuyan Fengyueyuan, Jinxianzhai Tourist Area, Shimen Dragon Cave, and Xiyao Green Valley National Forest Park. The local specialties of Linwu include Linwu honey pomelo, Dachong chili, taro, red peach, ume plum, etc. On January 25, 2019, Linwu County was selected as the national "Safe Agricultural Machinery" demonstration county in 2018.On December 6, 2019, Linwu County was selected as the pilot unit for the National Farmers' Cooperative Quality Enhancement Pilot Unit for the Whole County.
In July 2020, the National Health Council decided to name Linwu County as the 2017-2019 cycle of the national health county. on January 29, 2021, selected by the Hunan Provincial People's Government announced the 2020 annual list of areas with obvious results of real efforts (the province's letter and visit work, "three no" creation of standard counties and cities).
In 2022, Linwu County's GDP will be 17.61 billion yuan, an increase of 5.2% over 2021 at comparable prices.
