Moping Township, belonging to Zigui County, Yichang City, Hubei Province, is located in the southwestern part of Zigui County, bordering with Lianghekou Township to the east, Green Onion Slope and Nosanguan Township of Badong County to the south and west, and bordering with Meijiahe Township to the north, with an administrative area of 142 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, the household population of Moping Township was 11,415. In 1609, the thirty-seventh year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Longcheng Township.In October 1987, Moping Township was established. As of October 2021, Moping Township has 12 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. In 2019, Moping Township had 23 general stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
