Yingcheng City, county-level city under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province, administered by Xiaogan City, is an important part of the Wuhan City Circle. It is located in the east-central part of Hubei Province, southwest of Xiaogan City. The Dafushui passes through the center, between 113°19′ and 113°45′ east longitude and 30°43′ and 31°08′ north latitude. It is located in the transition zone between the hills and the Jianghan Plain, and the whole terrain slopes from northwest to southeast; the climate is subtropical monsoon climate, with significant changes in the four seasons, and the peaks of rain and heat occurring in the same season. With a total area of 1,103.38 square kilometers, at the end of 2022, the household population was 617,600. As of October 2022, Yingcheng has 5 streets and 10 towns under its jurisdiction. The city government is located in the city center street.
Anciently, Yingcheng was the land of Pusao. In the first year of Xiaojian (454) of the Southern Dynasty, Yingcheng County was set up in the south of Anlu County, and was named after the location of the city. Western Wei Daitong sixteen years (550 years), Yingcheng for Chengyang County. It was renamed Yingyang in Sui Dynasty. In May 1986, approved by the State Council, Yingcheng City was established as a county.
Yingcheng City is an industrial and mining city; gypsum, rock salt and hot springs are known as the three treasures of Yingcheng City, which is called "Salt Sea of Gypsum and Hot Springs". Among them, the reserves and grades of fiber gypsum rank first in the country, and the superior fiber gypsum accounts for more than 82% of the national reserves, which is regarded as the "Kingdom of Fiber Gypsum in Asia". There are many attractions in and around Tangchi Hot Spring.
Yingcheng City is a national garden city, the national advanced city of scientific and technological progress, China's excellent tourist city, China's best leisure and health tourism city, the hometown of China's hot springs, China's top ten happiest counties and cities, and so on.
In 2022, the gross regional product of Yingcheng City will be 47.071 billion yuan, which is 5.2% higher than that of 2021 at constant prices.
