Jiangxia District, belonging to Wuhan City, Hubei Province, is located in the southern part of Wuhan City, connected with Hongshan District in the north, bordering Xian'an District and Jiayu County of Xianning City in the south, Ezhou City and Daye City of Huangshi City in the east, and Caidian District and Hannan District across the river in the west. The maximum horizontal distance between east and west of the district is 54.2 kilometers, and the maximum vertical distance between north and south is 63.2 kilometers, with a total area of 2009 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Jiangxia District has 15 streets under its jurisdiction, and another 4 industrial parks and 1 scenic area. As of the end of 2022, Jiangxia District has a resident population of 1,056,000 people.
Jiangxia District has been known as "the first county of Chutian", with a long history, and several dozens of settlement sites of the Qujialing and Shijiahe cultures within its territory, proving that as early as 5,000 years ago, in the late primitive society, the first people lived and prospered in this area.
