Jiangling County, belonging to Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, is located in the south-central part of Hubei Province, the western part of the Jianghan Plain, the north bank of the Jingjiang River section of the Yangtze River, located in the southeastern outskirts of the city of Jingzhou, east of the city of Supervision, Qianjiang City, the west of the Yangtze River and the public security county, south of Shishou City, north of Jingzhou City, Shashi City. It lies between longitude 112°12′52″-112°44′22″E and latitude 29°54′36″-30°16′45″N, with an east-west distance of 53.5 kilometers, a north-south distance of 36.2 kilometers, and a total area of 1048.74 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Jiangling County (including Tanqiao) was 299,900 people.
Jiangling has a long history, since Zhou Zhuang Wang eight years (689 years ago), King Wen of Chu on the throne, the capital of the country from Danyang migrating Ying (now Jingzhou City, five kilometers north of the outside of the Ji Nan City), to the twenty-ninth year of King Zhaoxiang of Qin (278 years ago), Bai Qi pluck Ying, Chu twenty consecutive generations of the king of the capital of the country here for more than 400 years, and its palaces and pavilions all over the whole of the territory of the Jiangling and Qianjiang, Supervision of the area. When the Chu-Han dispute, Jiangling was the capital of Linjiang. Later, Emperor An of Jin, Emperor Harmony of Qi, Emperor Yuan of Liang, and Xiao Mou of Houliang all built their capitals here. In the first year of Shangyuan of Emperor Suzong of Tang Dynasty (760), Jingzhou was elevated to Jiangling Prefecture and set as the southern capital. During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, Jiangling was the capital of the Jingnan State. In addition, from the Western Han Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty, Jiangling was the place where the kings and princes were feudalized. In July 1998, approved by the State Council, the former Jiangling District was abolished and Jiangling County was established in Hao'an Town.
In 2022, Jiangling County realized GDP of 14.053 billion yuan, of which, the primary industry added value of 3.225 billion yuan, the secondary industry added value of 4.765 billion yuan, the tertiary industry added value of 6.063 billion yuan, the three industrial structure ratio of 22.9:33.9:43.1.
