Yuwantai District, belongs to Kaifeng City, Henan Province. It is located in the southeastern part of the urban area of Kaifeng City, Henan Province, adjacent to Gulou District, Shunhe District, and Xiangfu District. With a total area of 572,500 square kilometers, as of 2022, Yuwangtai District has a resident population of 120,800. As of October 2022, Yuwangtai District has five streets and two townships under its jurisdiction.
In the Northern Song Dynasty, it was known as Jingnanhang (京南厢). At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed the Third Road of Nanxiang. In 1907, it was renamed Nanguan District, and in 2005, it was renamed Yuwantai District. It was named after Yuwantai, a thousand-year-old garden located here. The Longhai Railway passes through the district, and National Highway 310 crosses the district; the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway. Kaifeng Station and Long-distance Bus Center Station are all within the district.
In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Yuwantai District was 10.597 billion yuan, an increase of 3.5% over the previous year. Among them: the added value of primary industry is 411 million yuan, an increase of 4.6%; the added value of secondary industry is 4.440 billion yuan, an increase of 4.1%; the added value of tertiary industry is 5.746 billion yuan, an increase of 3.0%.
