A National-Level Economic and Technological Development Zone, established in 1992 with the approval of the State Council, is located in the Kaifeng Urban-Rural Integration Demonstration Zone, with a planned area of 50 square kilometers. The zone focuses on developing industries such as equipment manufacturing, new materials, modern food processing, and biopharmaceuticals, aiming to build a pilot zone for the integrated development of Zhengzhou and Kaifeng. It is home to key projects including the Chery Automobile Henan Base and Kaifeng Times New Energy. The Lianhuo Expressway and the Zhengzhou-Kaifeng Intercity Railway run through the zone, which is approximately a 40-minute drive from Zhengzhou East Station.Supporting facilities include the Kaifeng Comprehensive Bonded Zone, talent apartments, technology business incubators, and a Grade III-A hospital. In 2024, the park attracted 68 foreign-invested projects, with actual utilization of foreign capital reaching $920 million. It benefits from policy support provided by the National-level Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Kaifeng Area of the Henan Free Trade Zone, and the Zhengzhou-Kaifeng Science and Technology Innovation Corridor.
