Zhumadian, prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Henan Province, also known as Ruining, Caizhou, and Tianzhong, is located in the south-central part of Henan Province, in the hilly plain area of the upper reaches of the Huaihe River, on the third level of the national geomorphic terrace, spanning the eastern edge of the Nanyang Basin and the Huaibei Plain, in the transition zone between subtropical and warm temperate zones, and with dual climatic features of the subtropical and warm temperate zones, with a total area of 15,083 square kilometers.
