Xiangdu District, part of Xingtai City, Hebei Province, is located in the central part of Xingtai City, with a total area of 91.7 square kilometers. Xiangdu District has a temperate monsoon climate. The district government is located at 201 Shunde Road. As of October 2022, Xiangdu District has 2 towns, 1 township, and 5 streets under its jurisdiction. As of November 2022, the resident population of Xiangdu District is 363,000 people.
With a long history, Xiangdu District, as the source of Xingtai's history and culture and the origin of the city's construction, has a history of more than 3,500 years of founding, and is ranked third in the history of founding a city on the map of China, and the first city in the history of North China. In the fourth year of Emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (206 BC), Xiang Yu established Zhang Er as the king of Changshan, and Xindu was renamed Xiangguo as the capital of Changshan. In the second year of Daxing of the Yuan Emperor of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (319), Shi Le established the Later Zhao Regime in Xingtai and built Xiangguo City as the capital. In the first year of the Tang Dynasty (618), Xiangguo was changed to Xingzhou. In the third year of Yuan Zhongtong (1262), Kublai elevated Xingzhou to Shunde Prefecture.In April 1981, with the approval of the State Council, Qiaodong District was established.In June 2020, the State Council approved and agreed to change the name of Qiaodong District to Xiangdu District. Xiangdu District is the residence of party, government and military organs of Xingtai City and the origin of Xingxiang culture. Since ancient times, the administrative establishment has not been interrupted, the city site has not been relocated, and a number of cultural relics and monuments such as Xingtai Ancient City, Xingtai Kaiyuan Temple and Xingtai Qingfeng Building are preserved, making it the main bearing area of the Xingtai Historical and Cultural Famous City.
Xiangdu District has a unique location advantage as the main highways such as Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao, Xing-Fen, Xing-Heng, Xing-Lin Expressway and 107 National Highway pass through the district, and Xingtai Station, Xingtai East Station and the south, north and middle exits of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway are all located in the district. It has attractions such as Xingtai Museum, Xingtai Garden Expo Park, Xingtai Historical and Cultural Park and Xingtai Forest Park.
In 2022, Xiangdu District realizes a gross regional product of 16.79 billion yuan, and the general public budget revenue completes 1.41 billion yuan.
