Tang County, belongs to Baoding City, Hebei Province. It is located in the southwest of Baoding City, bordering Wangdu County and Shunping County in the east, Dingzhou City in the south, Quyang County in the southwest, Fuping County in the west, and Laiyuan County in the north. The total area is 1,417 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, Tang County had a resident population of 493,300 people. As of June 2023, it has jurisdiction over 12 towns and 8 townships. The county people's government is located at No. 5 Guangming Road, Renhou Township.
In the fourth year of Emperor Gao Di of the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC), the county was established and named Tang County after the ancient Tang Hou State. There are 3 national key cultural relics protection units: Wolverine Temple Cliff Statue, Pouring Horse Pass Ming Great Wall, and Bei Fangshui Ruins, and the natural and humanistic tourist landscapes include Bai Qun Ke Memorial Hall, Qingxu Mountain, Dashiyu, and Xishenggou, etc. On May 5, 2019, the Hebei Provincial Government issued a circular formally approving the withdrawal of Tang County from the sequence of poverty-stricken counties.
In 2023, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Tang County completed 16 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 6.6%.
