Lingao County, directly governed by Hainan Province, is located in the northwestern part of Hainan Island, is an important part of the Beibu Gulf City Cluster, between latitude 19°34′-20°02′ north and longitude 109°3′-109°53′ east, the county has a land area of 1,299 square kilometers, and a sea area of 674 square kilometers. Located at a low latitude, south of the Tropic of Cancer, Lingao County enjoys abundant sunshine, pronounced monsoon winds, high temperatures and rainy days, and a tropical monsoon oceanic climate, with no frost throughout the year. As of August 2023, Lingao County has 11 towns, 2 development zones and 1 state farm under its jurisdiction. The county people's government is stationed at Wenming East Road, Lincheng Township. As of the end of 2022, Lingao County had a resident population of 423,500. In the third year of Sui Daye (607), Bishan County was set up, and in the first year of Tang Kaiyuan (713), Linji County was changed to Lingao County, and in April 1988, Lingao County came under the jurisdiction of Hainan Province. Transportation in Lingao County is well-connected, forming a traffic pattern with "two railways, two highways and two national highways" as the main arteries running through the east, west and southeast. The western loop of Guangdong-Hainan railway, the island highway and National Highway 225 (Haiyu West Line) pass through the county. Lingao County is the 2018 Comprehensive Demonstration County of E-commerce into Rural Areas, the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization piece area county, and the whole county (city and district) pilot of rooftop distributed photovoltaic development. Lingao County has attractions such as Hainan Liberation Park and Lingao Ancient Silver Waterfall. In 2022, Lingao County realized a gross regional product of 23.100 billion yuan, calculated on the basis of comparable prices (the same below), an increase of 0.1% over 2021. The per capita GDP is 54,521 yuan, a decrease of 0.4% from 2021. Among them, the added value of primary industry is 14.488 billion yuan, an increase of 0.1%; the added value of secondary industry is 1.162 billion yuan, an increase of 0.01%; the added value of tertiary industry is 7.452 billion yuan, an increase of 0.1%.
