Ding'an County, a county under the jurisdiction of Hainan Province, is located in the northeast of the central part of Hainan Island, between longitude 110°7′-110°31′E and latitude 19°13′-19°44′N, with a total area of 1,196.6 square kilometers. Ding'an County has a tropical monsoon maritime climate with a mild climate, abundant heat, sunshine and rainfall. As of 2018, Ding'an County has 10 towns under its jurisdiction, with the county government located in Dingcheng Township. According to the seventh census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Ding'an County was 284,690 people.
In June 1292, Ding'an County was established; in 1988, Hainan was founded as a province under the People's Government of Hainan Province. The Hainan East Ring Highway passes through the east of Dingan Town, and the Haiyu East Line and Middle Line Highway run through the whole territory. Ding'an County is the birthplace of Qiong Opera, China's folk culture (Qiong Opera) art township title. There are natural and humanistic attractions such as Nanli Lake Scenic Spot, Wenpenfeng Taoist Cultural Tourism Area, Hainan Tropical Bird World, Dingyang Ancient City (Dingcheng), Seeing Dragon Pagoda, Taishifang, Bajiao Hall, Zhang Yuesong's former residence, and Mureishan Revolutionary Base Memorial Park.
In 2022, Ding'an County's gross domestic product (GDP) finished at 12.286 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.1%. Among them, the added value of primary industry was 4.679 billion yuan, up 3.6% year-on-year; the added value of secondary industry was 1.85 billion yuan, down 0.9% year-on-year; the added value of tertiary industry was 5.757 billion yuan, down 2.1% year-on-year. The structural ratio of the three industries was 38.1:15.1:46.8.
