Qiujiang District, belonging to Wuhu City, Anhui Province, is the seat of Wuhu Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, located in the northeastern part of Wuhu City, spanning both sides of the Yangtze River, with the central geographic coordinates of 118°23′ East Longitude and 31°22′ North Latitude, and with a subtropical humid monsoon climate, abundant sunshine and rainfall, and four distinct seasons, with a total area of 820 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, Hat River District had a resident population of 556,000 people. As of 2022, Hatjiang District actually has jurisdiction over five streets and four towns, with the district people's government stationed in Erba Town.
The name of the district follows the meaning of the ancient name of Wuhu, "Hatz", and the district was established in March 1990 because it is near the Yangtze River. Hat River District has access to the river and the sea, and is well equipped with water, land and air transportation. Because of the river and the prosperity, because of the port and the rise, Zhu Jiaqiao foreign trade wharf built near the river, set bulk cargo, general cargo, containers, automobile ro-ro transshipment transportation as a whole, and at the same time has a bonded warehouse and customs supervision area, the Yangtze River back to the water on the last deep-water good harbor. Hakejiang District is also an important industrial zone in Wuhu City, with the state-level Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone, Export Processing Zone, Zhujiaqiao Foreign Trade Terminal, the largest inland coal transshipment port on the Yangtze River, and the Wuhu Railway and Highway Hub all located in the district.
In 2022, Qiujiang District realized a gross regional product of 122.442 billion yuan, an increase of 3.6% over the previous year at comparable prices.
