Huoqiu County, part of Lu'an City, Anhui Province, is located in the western part of Anhui Province. It is bordered by Sanhejian Town, Xuji and Chenji in Gushi County, Henan Province in the west, Fuyang across the Huai River in the north, Lu'an City and Shou County in the east, and Jinzhai in the south, with a total area of 3,239 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Huoqiu County has 25 towns and 5 townships under its jurisdiction, as well as 1 development zone and 1 village under the jurisdiction of the Fisheries Bureau. As of the end of 2022, Huoqiu County had a resident population of 940,000 people. Huoqiu was known as Polygon State in ancient times, and Huoqiu County was set up in the 19th year of Kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (599), with a history of more than 1,400 years. Huoqiu is one of the first commercial grain and high-quality oilseed rape production base counties, and a key county for animal husbandry and aquatic production. In 2022, Huoqiu County realized a gross regional product of 28.24 billion yuan, divided into industries, the added value of the primary industry was 6.68 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 8.81 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry was 12.75 billion yuan. The proportion of the three industries was 23.7:32.4:44.2.
