Jingde County, belonging to Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, was a part of Youzhou in ancient times. It is located in the hinterland of southern Anhui, relying on the Huangshan Mountain in the west, facing Suzhou, Zhejiang and Shanghai in the east, and resting on the Wanjiang River in the north. As of May 2023, the county covers an area of 904.8 square kilometers, with 10 towns under its jurisdiction, and at the end of 2022, the registered population of Jingde County was 145,000 people. It is the only county in Xuancheng City and the 14th county in Anhui Province that consists entirely of townships. Jingde County was founded in 763, the second year of Baoying in Tang Dynasty, and has a history of more than 1,250 years. The name of the county means "to show appreciation for the virtuous and virtuous". Jingde has a long history and is the birthplace of Hui culture, including the agronomist Wang Zhen, lyricist Lv Bicheng, mathematician Jiang Zeihan, and literary scholar Zhou Zu. Hui culture has a profound accumulation and inheritance in Jingde County, and Hui architecture can be seen everywhere, which is a concentration of ancient Hui villages in South Anhui Province. Jingde County has excellent ecology, with a forested area of 750,000 mu and a forest coverage rate of 66%, which is a national ecological county and a national key ecological functional area, the core area of the South Anhui International Cultural Tourism Demonstration Zone, and one of the important accesses to the Huangshan Mountain Scenic Area in the Yangtze River Delta region. The GDP of Jingde County in 2022 will be 6.52 billion yuan, an increase of 4% over the previous year.
