Wensu County, belonging to Aksu Region of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the south foothill of Tomur Peak in the middle part of the Tianshan Mountains in the west, on the northwest edge of the Tarim Basin, bordering with Baicheng County and Xinhe County in the east, Aksu City in the south, and Ushi County across the Toshkent River in the west, and bordering with the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Zhaosu County of the Yili-Hasake Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang in the north.
