Xihu District, belonging to Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, one of the central urban areas of Nanchang, is located in the central part of Nanchang City, on the south bank of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and on the east side of the Ganjiang River, with a total area of 35.3 square kilometers.In 2022, Xihu District had a household population of 462,500 people. As of June 2023, Xihu District has 10 streets under its jurisdiction, with the district government stationed at 369 Fusheng Road, Chaoyangzhou Street.
West Lake was originally part of the ancient Taihu Lake in Yuzhang County in the Han Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty set up Hongen Bridge East Taihu Lake separated into east and west, west of Hongen Bridge is called West Lake, West Lake District thus named. 1980, Fuhe District, West Lake District merged with the West Lake District. Nanchang's seven ancient city gates, four of which, Jinxian Gate, Huimin Gate, Guangrun Gate and Shunhua Gate, are in Xihu District; the Memorial Hall of the 81st Uprising, the former site of the military headquarters of the New Fourth Army, and the ruins of the Southeastern Branch of the New Fourth Army are all located in Xihu District. It is the 2020 China Shuangchuang vitality of the top 100 counties and cities, Jiangxi Province, double embrace model district.
In 2022, the gross regional product of Xihu District was 72.723 billion yuan, an increase of 4.7% over the previous year. Among them, the added value of the secondary industry is 14.097 billion yuan. The added value of the tertiary industry is 58.625 billion yuan, and the structure of the three industries is 0.0:19.4:80.6.
