Suichuan County, belonging to Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southwestern border of Jiangxi Province and the southwest of Ji'an City, connected with Wan'an County in the east, neighboring with Nankang District and Shangyu County of Ganzhou City in the south, bordering with Guidong and Yanling Counties of Hunan Province in the west, adjoining Jinggangshan City in the northwest, and bordering with Taihe County in the north. Suichuan County has a total area of 3,144.17 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 13 towns, 10 townships, and another 3 townships.At the end of 2022, the total population of Suichuan County was 630,000 people.
Suichuan ancient name Suixing, Xinxing, Longquan, Quanjiang, the East Han Dynasty Jian'an four years (199 years) to build the county, has a history of more than 1800 years. In the first year of Baodai of the Southern Tang Dynasty (943), the Longquan field was set up in Shishang Township, Longquan Township, Taihe. In the 18th year of Li Jing of the Southern Tang Dynasty (960), the field was elevated to the county, named Longquan County. In 1914, it was renamed Suichuan. Within the territory, there is the highest peak of Xiang-Gan border - Nanfengmian, the second largest migratory bird passage - "Millennium Bird Road", with Nanfengmian National Nature Reserve, Luoxiao Mountain Grand Canyon National Nature Reserve, Luoxiao Mountain Grand Canyon National Forest Park, Wudou River National Wetland Park and other three national nature reserves, forest coverage of 79.09%, with a national ecological civilization construction demonstration area, China's natural oxygen bar, China's green county, China's ecological charm of the county, the state's key ecological functional zones, such as a number of national green "business cards".
Suichuan County, known as "the first county south of Jinggang Mountain", is the core part of the Jinggang Mountain Revolutionary Base, the important area of the "Great Jinggang" Tourism Circle, the hometown of China's famous tea. Suichuan is the core part of the Jinggang Mountain Revolutionary Base Area, where Comrade Mao Zedong started the great practice of "building the government in Suichuan", and created the first county-level industrial, peasant and military regime with democratic substance - Suichuan County Industrial, Peasant and Military Government.
In 2022, Suichuan County realized a GDP of 21.99 billion yuan, an increase of 5.3%; industrial revenue of 30.66 billion yuan, an increase of 8.4%; fiscal revenue of 2.43 billion yuan, an increase of 18.8%; and was awarded the advanced comprehensive assessment of Ji'an City for seven consecutive years.
