Hetang District, belonging to Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, is located in the north of Zhuzhou City, bordering Liuyang City, Lusong District, Shifeng District and Yunlong Demonstration District, between latitude 27°44′24″~27°55′11″N and longitude 113°08′08″~113°20′03″E, with subtropical monsoon humid climate and four distinct seasons, and covers a total area of 151.77 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Hotang District was 343,900. As of June 2023, Hetang District has 1 town and 6 streets under its jurisdiction, with the district people's government stationed at 1468 Xinhua East Road.
The present Hetang District during the Warring States period belonged to the South Chu, the territory has begun to plant lotus, residents "rice rice soup fish". Three Kingdoms to the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, has been Jianning County, the famous post store. During the Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties, it was a famous village in Xiangtan County. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was gradually settled as a market town by the post stores, and in June 1951, it was incorporated into Zhuzhou City, and on August 1, 1997, Hetang District was formally established. There are Xiangyu Ling Provincial Scenic Spot, Baxian Ling Provincial Forest Park and large city parks such as Mingzhao Lake, Swan Lake, Shizi Lake, etc. The green coverage rate reaches 47.87%, enjoying the reputation of "Green Lung" in Zhuzhou city.
In 2022, the gross regional product of Hetang District will be 28.44 billion yuan, an increase of 5.3%.
