Suxian District is a municipal district and the seat of the municipal government of Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, also known as "Fucheng". It is located in the south of Hunan Province, the center of Chenzhou City, and the upper reaches of Lei River, a tributary of the Xiangjiang River. It is located in east longitude 112°53′55″-113°16′20″ and north latitude 25°30′21″-26°03′29″. It spans 37.4 kilometers from east to west and 61.0 kilometers from north to south. It borders Yongxing County in the north, Zixing City in the east, Yizhang County in the south, and Beihu District and Guiyang County in the west. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Su Xian District was 436,500. As of 2020, Su Xian District has 116 villages and 69 communities under the jurisdiction of 8 towns and 6 streets, with 1,848 village groups. Su Xian District has a total land area of 1342.27 square kilometers.
Suxian District, named after "the 18th blessed place in the world - Suxianling Scenic Area", has 6 streets and 8 towns under its jurisdiction, and is the political, economic and cultural center of Chenzhou City. The district party committee and district government are located in Chenzhou City, Suyuan East Road 6, 322 kilometers to Changsha in the north and 374 kilometers to Guangzhou in the south. The Zixing-Chengui High-level Highway (Zixing - Chenzhou - Guiyang) crosses east and west, and the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway, the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway Duplicate Line, and the 107 National Highway run through the north and south.2021 On January 29, 2021, it was selected to be on the 2020 list of areas that have made real efforts and achieved significant results (province-wide), as announced by the Hunan Provincial People's Government.
