Tianxin District (天心区), a district of Changsha, Hunan Province, is located in the southern part of Changsha, with a total area of 137.34 square kilometers, bordering Furong and Yuhua districts in the east, Xiangtan Zhaoshan Demonstration District in the south, Yuelu District in the west across the Xiangjiang River, and Kaifu District in the north. As of 2023, it has jurisdiction over 14 streets with 87 communities and 12 administrative villages. The People's Government of the district is located at No. 298 Xiangfu Middle Road. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of the district was 871,700, and the urbanization rate of the resident population was 99.1%.
Formerly known as the South District, Tianshen District is named after Changsha's famous landmark, Tianxin Pavilion, and has the unique advantages of being on the riverfront (Xiangjiang River), on the continent (Orange Island), and looking at Yue (Yuelu Mountain), and sits in the ecological green heart of the ChangZhuTan urban agglomeration of 57.65 square kilometers, making it the best showcase for the charms of Changsha's "City of Landscape and Continent," as well as the core of the integration of the city of ChangZhuTan. Tianxin District gathers 60% of Changsha's historical and cultural attractions, including the famous historical and cultural heritages such as Tianxin Ancient Pavilion, Baisha Ancient Well, the First Normal School, and Jia Yi's former residence, as well as landmark modern cultural and sports facilities such as the New Century Sports and Cultural Center, and the provincial Three Museums and One Center, which can be described as "culture everywhere and history everywhere", and is a national ecological center and the best showcase of the charm of the "City of Mountains and Waters". It is a national ecological demonstration area.
In 2022, Tianxin District will realize a GDP of 130.216 billion yuan, a per capita disposable income of 69,985 yuan, and an annual general public budget revenue of 15.808 billion yuan.
