Mengcheng County, belonging to Bozhou City, Anhui Province, is located in the central part of the Huaibei Plain, in the northwestern part of Anhui Province, the eastern part of Bozhou City, neighboring Huaiyuan County of Bengbu City in the east, Lixin County and Eddy County of Bozhou City in the west, Fengtai County of Huainan City in the south, and Suixi County of Huaibei City in the north, and lies between latitudes of 32°55′29″-33°29′64″N, longitudes of 116°15′43″E -116°49′25″. Mengcheng County has a total area of 2,091 square kilometers. As of 2019, it has 3 streets, 12 towns, and 2 townships under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, Mengcheng County had a household population of 1,486,600. Mengcheng County is a provincial-level historical and cultural city in Anhui, the hometown of Zhuangzi, the hometown of Chinese couplets, and the hometown of hard-brush calligraphy in Anhui Province, as well as a national advanced county in grain production, a national model county in cultural work, and a national model county in science and technology.In August 2018, the Anhui provincial government approved the exit of Mengcheng County from the poverty-stricken counties.In May 2020, it was included in the list of counties' new townships with demonstration of new townships. in June 2020, it was selected as the first county to be built in the country by the Central Committee for Rule of Law, it was selected as the first list of national model regions and projects for rule of law government construction. In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Mengcheng County will be 45.883 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 4.4% at comparable prices.
