Liangcheng County, a county under the jurisdiction of Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the south-central part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the southern part of Ulanqab, at the southern foothills of the Yinshan Mountains and at the northeastern edge of the Loess Plateau, with a mid-temperate continental climate, adjoining seven counties and districts (municipalities), with a total area of 3,458.3 square kilometers. During the Northern Wei Dynasty, the county was built on top of a mountain beam and took the name Liangcheng County, which was also known as Liangcheng County because of the cool temperature. In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Ningyuan County was renamed Liangcheng County. on October 1, 1949, Liangcheng County belonged to Suinan Commissioner's Office; in September 1950, Liangcheng County belonged to Jining Commissioner's Office; on March 19, 1954, the second district of the Chahar Right Wing Set Blue and Red Union Flag was transferred to Liangcheng County, and Liangcheng County belonged to the Pindiquan Administrative District of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region; on April 2, 1958, Liangcheng County was transferred to the Ulanchab League; in December 2003, Ulanchab withdrawal of the League set up a city, Liangcheng County belongs to Ulanchab City. The main attractions of Liangcheng County include Daihai Tourism Resort, Inner Mongolia Erlongshitai National Forest Park, Daihai Ski Resort, etc. On July 17, 2020, Liangcheng County was selected as "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Model Cities (Flag Counties and Urban Areas) List". In January, 2023, Liangcheng County was selected as one of the "Fifth Batch of Counties (Districts) Achieving the Standard of Water Saving Society Construction".
