The Luzhou County Economic Development Zone in Sichuan was established in 2007 and was approved as a provincial-level economic development zone in 2019. Currently, the Luzhou County Economic Development Zone has been fully integrated and consists of the Luzhou Pharmaceutical Industrial Park and the Luzhou County Sichuan-Chongqing New Materials Industrial Park, forming a “one zone, two parks” structure. It has a planned area of 14.08 square kilometers, with 7.1 square kilometers currently in use and a built-up area of 5.45 square kilometers.Specifically: The Luzhou Pharmaceutical Industrial Park comprises four zones—the West City Industrial Park, the Pharmaceutical Industrial Park, the North City Industrial Park, and the Southwest Construction Industrial Park (9.98 square kilometers)—while the Luxian Sichuan-Chongqing New Materials Industrial Park includes the Luxian Shenxianqiao Chemical Industrial Park (approved as a provincial-level chemical industrial park in 2022) and its surrounding planned areas (4.1 square kilometers). It is recognized as one of China’s Top Ten Outstanding Specialized Biopharmaceutical Industrial Parks, a Model Industrial Cooperation Park within the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, a National Torch Specialized Medical Device Industrial Base, and a Sichuan Provincial Model Base for Small and Micro Enterprise Entrepreneurship. To date, 1,236 enterprises have established operations here, including 148 industrial enterprises above designated size and 32 high-tech enterprises.In 2024, the park generated 56.065 billion yuan in main business revenue, contributed 1.065 billion yuan in tax revenue, and provided employment for 29,500 people.
