Jinshan Town is the seat of the People's Government of Guyang County, and is the center of politics, economy, culture and transportation of the county. The altitude is about 1200 meters above sea level. The town covers an area of 5.2 square kilometers. The official languages of Jinshan Town are Mandarin Chinese and Mongolian, which are used in formal occasions, but the language used in daily life in Jinshan Town is Jin, which belongs to the Datong-Baotou dialect of Jin and is commonly known as the "local language".
