The Hebi National Economic and Technological Development Zone covers a total area of 33 square kilometers and focuses on developing three key industries: optoelectronics, automotive electronics and electrical appliances, and advanced magnesium processing. On July 2, 2019, it was designated as a National Foreign Trade Transformation and Upgrading Base by the Ministry of Commerce.In accordance with its planning and industrial development layout, the Hebi Development Zone has established the North City Industrial Park, which focuses on automotive parts and electronic appliances; the Jinshan Industrial Park, which focuses on advanced magnesium processing; and the Dongyang Industrial Park, which focuses on intelligent equipment. This has created a favorable landscape characterized by “one zone and three parks, developing in a competitive and dynamic manner.” Currently, there are more than 500 industrial enterprises operating within the zone,including 103 industrial enterprises above designated size. The zone houses two national-level engineering and technology centers, three academician workstations, two postdoctoral research stations, and more than 30 provincial-level or higher R&D platforms. It has also established the National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Magnesium and Magnesium Alloys and the Hebi Magnesium Trading Center, striving to build itself into a “Central Plains Optics Valley” with “core” technology and a “China Magnesium Valley” with “soul.”
