Development Zone Introduction
Shaohaihui Hebi Industrial Park was established in May 2021 within the “China Magnesium Valley” Industrial Park in the Hebi Economic and Technological Development Zone, Henan Province, and began production in September of the same year. With a total investment of approximately 500 million yuan, the project covers a planned area of over 110,000 square meters. It features 11 smart manufacturing facilities, 20 production lines, and more than 400 sets of equipment. The facility has now evolved into a comprehensive magnesium alloy production and R&D base, integrating the entire process from material development and product design to semi-solid die pressing, die casting, extrusion, forging, machining, and surface treatment.Guided by technology, Shaohaihui’s Hebi Industrial Park has appointed Professor Shechtman—a Nobel Laureate in Chemistry and materials expert from the Technion—as its Chief Technical Advisor. The park has organized a team to establish the Shechtman Research Institute, dedicated to advancing the application of magnesium alloys, known as the “lightest metal,” across multiple fields. Concurrently, the Hebi Industrial Park has forged close collaborations with the team led by Academician Ding Wenjiang of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the team led by Academician Pan Fusheng of Chongqing University, and the team led by Professor Liu Chuming of Central South University, to jointly establish China’s largest and most advanced magnesium alloy pilot production base. The park is committed to building itself into a globally leading ecosystem for magnesium alloys and lightweight new materials, and to creating a comprehensive R&D and production hub for the magnesium alloy industry in transportation, aerospace, 3C electronics, and other applications.
