Established in December 1992 with the approval of the State Council, Zhuhai High-Tech Zone was officially designated and placed under dynamic management by the State Science and Technology Commission (now the Ministry of Science and Technology) in March 1993. It comprises the Nanping Science and Technology Industrial Park, the Sanzao Science and Technology Industrial Park, the Xinqing Science and Technology Industrial Park, and the Science and Technology Innovation Coast.In July 2006, the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government implemented an institutional restructuring to integrate the Zhuhai High-Tech Zone and Tangjiawan Town, establishing the main park in the Tangjiawan area. The Zone Administrative Committee comprises 11 internal departments, 17 district-affiliated public institutions, 7 provincial and municipal units stationed in the zone, and 4 universities.In September 2015, the State Council formally approved the establishment of the Zhuhai High-Tech Zone as a National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone. The zone boasts a beautiful environment and significant advantages in science and technology education, as well as historical and cultural resources.
