The Guangdong Industrial Design City began operations in January 2009 with a total estimated investment of 2.6 billion yuan. Its core launch area covers nearly 70,000 square meters and serves as a modern service industry cluster focused on industrial design. Adopting a development model of “government promotion, joint construction by the province and the district, and market-driven operation,” it has been designated a “National Industrial Design Demonstration Base” by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Intellectual Property Administration, and is also a “National-Level Science and Technology Enterprise Incubator.”Currently, the park has established a comprehensive service outsourcing system integrating market research, innovative design, R&D and pilot production (R&D centers and pilot workshops), manufacturing, trading, exhibitions, networking, training, incubation, and public services. Its service scope covers emerging industries such as smart manufacturing, smart home, life sciences and healthcare, and medical devices.
