Leveraging its hub advantages, Huadu’s future looks promising.
Impressive Results: Two Fortune 500 Companies Settle in Huadu
ZF is a global leader in automotive components and technology. It is currently building its South China R&D Center in Huadu, with the first phase—a 10,000-square-meter testing facility—expected to be operational in early 2023.
The new plant is set to become a flagship facility with an annual output value of 10 billion yuan, with construction scheduled to begin in 2023 and production set to start in 2024.
By then, Guangzhou is expected to gain another lighthouse factory.
The successful introduction of the ZF Automotive Electronics Factory project holds significant importance for Guangzhou’s strategy to build a trillion-yuan smart automotive city. By seizing the critical window of opportunity for the development of intelligent connected vehicles, it will drive the city’s automotive industry toward faster and more stable growth.
The KPS Automotive Experience Center project will establish a base in Huadu featuring Chinese brand cultural exchange, a driving experience center, vehicle exhibitions, and modules for driving and testing evaluations.
The project is planned for the Jiulonghu area in Huadu, covering a total land area of approximately 345 mu. The preliminary total investment is expected to reach 700 million yuan, with annual revenue projected to reach approximately 200 million yuan once the project reaches maturity.
In the future, the project is expected to become a new landmark in Guangzhou, leveraging its leading position in the automotive cultural industry to attract high-end domestic and international audiences and drive cultural and tourism consumption.
In addition, major industrial projects—including Alibaba’s New Retail Supply Chain South China Headquarters, as well as advanced manufacturing initiatives such as the JD Smart Industrial Park, CTS·Anaya Jiulonghu Tourism Resort, Marelli Automotive Electronics R&D Headquarters, Meituan Greater Bay Area Retail Technology Industrial Base, and Jiehuate Microelectronics South China Headquarters—have all established partnerships with Huadu.
Seizing opportunities, strengthening the economy, and boosting confidence—since the beginning of this year, Huadu has centered its efforts on the new industrial development framework of “One Zone, One City, One Port,” providing dedicated “one-stop” services to facilitate the implementation of investment projects, resulting in a steady influx of major and high-quality projects.
“Huadu Speed”: High-Quality Projects Flock to the District in 2022
In late 2021, Guchuan United signed a cooperation agreement with the Huadu Economic Development Zone to launch in-depth collaboration in areas such as commissioned investment promotion, investment promotion seminars, and practical training for investment promotion.
Since then, Guchuan United has assisted Huadu in organizing investment promotion seminars in Shenzhen, Dongguan, and other locations, precisely targeting and inviting relevant enterprises to attend. These events covered sectors such as air-rail integrated headquarters, the digital economy, technological innovation, advanced intelligent manufacturing, green building materials, healthcare and cosmetics, modern logistics, and infrastructure, achieving excellent results.
Leveraging its extensive project resources and industry-leading professional services, Guchuan United employs data-driven precision investment promotion to help Huadu evolve from an air-rail hub into an aviation metropolis.
In 2022, Huadu signed 118 new projects, a 13% year-on-year increase. The total investment of these signed projects reached 150.013 billion yuan, with an estimated annual output value of 246.157 billion yuan.
On December 11, at the Dongfeng Nissan Guangzhou Headquarters, as an ARIYA pure electric vehicle slowly pulled in, it marked the official achievement of Dongfeng Nissan’s 15 millionth vehicle sales milestone.Projects such as the Dongfeng Venucia 200,000-unit new energy vehicle manufacturing base, the ZF Automotive Electronics Plant, and the JD.com Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Research Institute are advancing at a rapid pace... Huadu is waging a decisive battle to advance the upgrading of its industrial foundation and the modernization of its industrial chains. With the Automobile City as the flagship, it is extending the entire industrial chain, accelerating the construction of a Greater Bay Area innovation hub for intelligent connected vehicles, and promoting the continuous integration and development of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries.
At the intersection of Shanqian Tourism Avenue and the Daguang Expressway in Huadu District, you’ll find the Yuhu Cold Chain (Guangzhou) Trading Center currently under vigorous construction.
Since construction began last March, the project has progressed smoothly and is expected to commence operations in the second quarter of next year. As Guangdong’s first full-temperature-zone cold chain warehousing and trading park, the project will be based in Guangzhou, serve South China, and connect with the world, aiming to become a national demonstration base for green and smart cold chain logistics and a global cold chain network hub. It has been selected for the provincial key projects list for three consecutive years.
With Yuhu Cold Chain as a flagship example, a large number of projects by companies such as Meituan, JD.com, J&T Express, Cainiao, YTO Express, and SF Express are currently under accelerated construction or in the negotiation phase in Huadu. Leveraging the advantages of its dual air-rail hubs, Huadu is striving to build a modern logistics industry cluster worth hundreds of billions of yuan, with a clear trend of industrial agglomeration.
In the first half of the year, the Huadu Avenue renovation project was fully completed, and the Air-Rail Avenue (Phase I) was built and opened to traffic, marking the initial emergence of Huadu’s air-rail intermodal transport system.
To date, high-end industries and commercial sectors—including smart electronics, fashion, and aerospace high-tech—have gathered along the Huadu Air-Rail Avenue. Among these, the smart electronics cluster, anchored by the CETC South China Electronics Information Industrial Park and the Guoguang 2025 International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community, focuses on next-generation information technology, smart manufacturing, and headquarters economy. It aims to become an influential “100-billion-yuan smart electronics industrial cluster” in South China.
Coming to the Greater Bay Area, coming to Guangzhou, and coming to Huadu means arriving at a land of opportunity.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is opening new avenues and injecting new momentum into global industries. Huadu District will certainly seize these opportunities, focusing on building a new growth pole in northern Guangzhou, and contributing Huadu’s strength and demonstrating Huadu’s commitment to the development of the province and the city.
