The Fujian Pinghe Industrial Park is a provincial-level industrial park located in the eastern part of Pinghe County. With a total planned area of 25 square kilometers, it is situated between the two Special Economic Zones of Xiamen and Shantou. Construction of the park began in March 1999. In August 2002, it was designated as a municipal-level industrial park by the Zhangzhou Municipal People’s Government, and in 2006, it was upgraded to a provincial-level industrial park following review and approval by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Provincial People’s Government. With a total planned area of 5 square kilometers, the park has established an overall layout of “one zone, one axis, and multiple parks,” comprising the Huangjing Industrial Park, Wenmei Industrial Park, Baofeng Industrial Park, and Daban Yang Industrial Park.
The Huangjing Industrial Park focuses on new building materials, eco-friendly wood products, and new materials as its leading industries, aiming to develop a high-tech building materials sector;Wenmei Industrial Park focuses on developing the optoelectronics industry; Baofeng Industrial Park focuses on developing the machinery industry; and Daban Yang Industrial Park focuses on developing the food processing industry.
Pinghe Industrial Park boasts excellent transportation and infrastructure conditions. The area is easily accessible, located 18 kilometers from downtown Zhangzhou, 5 kilometers from the Wenmei Interchange on the Fuguang Expressway, 5 kilometers from the Jingcheng Freight Station on the Longxia Railway, 56 kilometers from Zhangzhou Port, and 78 kilometers from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport. In addition, the park is equipped with comprehensive municipal infrastructure, including an 110,000-volt substation, a water treatment plant with a daily capacity of 20,000 tons, and a sewage treatment plant with a daily capacity of 20,000 tons.
In terms of industrial development, Pinghe Industrial Park has already fostered industrial clusters in machinery, chemicals, paper, wood products, pharmaceuticals, and food processing. The park will continue to intensify efforts to attract investment, further improve infrastructure, and enhance service levels, striving to become a modern, eco-friendly industrial park.
